Polymethyl Methacrylate (Acrylic Sheet)

Polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) or poly (methyl 2-methylpropenoate) is the synthetic polymer of methyl methacrylate. This thermoplastic and transparent plastic is sold by the tradenames Plexiglas, Limacryl, R-Cast, Perspex, Plazcryl, Acrylex, Acrylite, Acrylplast, Altuglas, Polycast and Lucite and is commonly called acrylic glass or simply acrylic. PMMA is often used as an alternative to glass.

PMMA is a kind of thermoplastic resin, which is flammable and also soluble in organic solvent. Due to its outstanding characteristics such as exceptional clarity, weather resistance, mechanical properties as well as appealing luster among other transparent plastics, PMMA is also commonly known as "Queen of Plastics".

It is often preferred on account of its moderate properties, easy handling and processing, and low cost. Thermoplastic PMMA is typically processed at 240-250 °C. All common molding processes may be used, including injection molding, compression molding and extrusion. The highest quality PMMA sheets are produced by cell casting, but in this case, the polymerization and molding steps occur concurrently.

PMMA can be joined using cyanoacrylate cement (so-called "Superglue"), with heat (melting), or by using solvents such as di- or trichloromethane to dissolve the plastic at the joint which then fuses and sets, forming an almost invisible weld. Scratches may easily be removed by polishing.

PMMA or Acrylic is a versatile material and has been used in a wide range of fields and applications

Polycarbonate Sheet (PC)

Polycarbonates are a particular group of thermoplastic polymers. They are easily worked, moulded, and thermoformed; as such, these plastics are very widely used in the modern chemical industry. Their interesting features (temperature resistance, impact resistance and optical properties) position them between commodity plastics and engineering plastics.

This resin with unmatched impact resistance, outstanding dimensional stability and crystal-clarity. It is an amorphous engineering thermoplastic that combines high levels of mechanical, optical, electrical and thermal properties. It also provides designers with new opportunities for innovative, cost-effective products such as eyewear, compact discs, kitchen containers and business equipment.

Typical Applications

  • Computer housings and peripherals

  • Building and construction - glazing

  • Optical lenses, corrective eyewear, sun wear lenses

  • Compact Discs (CDs), Digital Video Discs (DVDs)

  • Health care components

  • Water bottles

  • Cellular phone housing

  • Electronics equipment housings

  • Electrical appliances

  • Bullet proof shield

  • Machine/indoor cover

  • Helmet visor

Aluminium Composite Panel (ACP)

A revolutionary and versatile new decorative building material widely used in interior and exteriors of buildings as curtain walls, paneling, cladding and roofing applications. It offers innovative, modern, beautiful, creative and practical design possibilities for a variety of applications satisfying every need of architects, engineers, contractors and building owners. Hence, aluminium composite panel has become a better substitute for conventional building materials such as Marble, Granite, Tiles and Wood etc.

Typical Applications

  • Road Signboard

  • Signage

  • Wall cladding

  • Roofing

High Impact Plastic Sheet (HIPS)

Pure polystyrene is brittle, but hard enough that a fairly high-performance product can be made by giving it some of the properties of a stretchier material, such as polybutadiene rubber.

Polystyrene is a versatile plastic that can be rigid or foamed. It is a low cost member of the plastics family. It also generally recognized as the best styrenic material.

Polybutadiene is added during polymerization it can become chemically bonded to the polystyrene, forming a graft copolymer which helps to incorporate normal polybutadiene into the final mix, resulting in high-impact polystyrene or HIPS, often called "high-impact plastic" in advertisements.

Common applications include use in toys and product casings. HIPS is usually injection molded in production. Autoclaving polystyrene can compress and harden the material.

Typical Applications

  • Packaging (food, medical/pharmaceutical)

  • Refrigerator liners

  • Sign-making display articles.

  • Household items

  • Jewel case

  • Stationery
